Day 15

Saturday, April 17, 2010. First off today we have an iron-ore furnace built in 1833, followed by a tree with interesting roots where a gully washed out under it. The sideways 3rd picture has a wild onion in the middle. These things are all over down here and make a lovely pungeant aroma! The next picture gives you an idea of how "rolling" the countryside is, a bicyclist's nightmare! Following that is a typical layered rock wall along the road, common all through these hills. Then we have an abandoned home, the type that always make me think that once upon a time someone probably raised a family there, a family that laughed and cried and loved. The next picture is a twist on the usual roadkill I rode past: a roadkill gummy worm! Last, I made dinner by flashlight!
Today I continued to ride south though hilly country. The day started off cloudy but cleared by afternoon and warmed into the upper 60's. There weren't any towns of size today, but I had plenty of my own food with me and enjoyed cooking it. Miles ridden: 51.5
